Alberts and Sony Music Entertainment Australia proudly announce the November 28th release of ‘Rock or Bust,’ the highly anticipated new studio album from AC/DC.
September 24, 2014, Sydney, Australia – Alberts and Sony Music Entertainment Australia proudly announce the release of ‘Rock or Bust,’ the highly anticipated new studio album from AC/DC, available in Australia November 28, 2014. ‘Rock or Bust’ is the band’s first studio album in six years and features 11 new tracks.
‘Rock or Bust’ follows the immensely successful ‘Black Ice’ album, which debuted at #1 in 31 countries upon its release in 2008 and has gone on to sell nearly 8 million copies worldwide. The album was recorded at Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada and finds AC/DC once again working with producer Brendan O’Brien and mixer Mike Fraser.
“Rock or Bust” is the first AC/DC album in the band’s history without founding member Malcolm Young on the recordings. Earlier this year AC/DC released a statement explaining that due to illness, Malcolm would be taking a break from the band. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm's illness, he will not be re-joining the band. AC/DC will undertake a world tour in support of ‘Rock or Bust’ in 2015. Steve Young, nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, plays guitar on 'Rock or Bust' and will accompany the band on tour.

Malcolmin tilasta on liikkeellä seuraavanlaista tietoa.
AC/DC Member Malcolm Young Reportedly Suffers from Dementia
The rocker recently stepped down from the band's lineup
Malcolm Young is a guitarist of rock band AC/DC, as well as one of the co-founders, along with his brother Angus. The aging rocker has been at the heart of a scandal earlier this year that saw the band retire from making music and touring. Sources claimed that he was diagnosed with a unspecified illness that left him unable to play.
The rumors that the band was retiring turned out to be false, but they were related to a standing agreement the members of the band had made years ago that specified that if any of the members were left unable to play or simply quit the band, the others would not continue to make music without him.
Malcolm Young retired from the band, AC/DC plans to move on without him
It seems that the agreement was suspended for Young because the band has recently announced that the guitarist was indeed stepping down from the lineup but that they would be going on without him. AC/DC have recently announced a new album “Rock or Bust” and a new world tour to support it.
Today, it's been revealed by sources close to Young's family that the aging rocker is suffering from dementia. The sources told Sydney Morning Herald that Young was moved to a full-time nursing home that specializes in dealing with patients afflicted by dementia.
Dementia has affected Young's short term memory
The 61-year-old rocker's condition has been described by people close to him, “If you were in the room with [Malcolm Young] and walked out, then came back in one minute later, he wouldn't remember who you are. He has a complete loss of short-term memory. His wife, Linda, has put him in full-time care.”
Michael Browning, the former manager for AC/DC is quoted as saying “I have friends that are still involved and they keep me posted so I have known for a little while. I think it [Malcolm's illness] came on very suddenly.”
Young is getting replaced by his young nephew Stevie
The band have already made plans to replace Young, but they are keeping it in the family, as they have enlisted the help of Stevie Young, Malcolm's nephew, to play rhythm guitar on the tour and on the album as well.
Browning points out that it's going to be a difficult transition for the band since Malcolm was one of the creative motors behind the AC/DC success and he was a really talented guitarist in the recording booth as well as on stage. Stevie might cut it on live performances, but the band has definitely lost at least a part of their creative spirit in the studio.

AC/DC's Phil Rudd Arrested for Attempting to Procure a Murder
Longtime drummer also charged with possession of methamphetamine and cannabis and threatening to kill
AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd was arrested in New Zealand
By Jason Newman | November 5, 2014
AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd was arrested in New Zealand on Thursday morning local time and charged with attempting to procure a murder, as first reported by Stuff.co.nz. A member of the Tauranga Central division of New Zealand Police confirmed Rudd's arrest to Rolling Stone, but did not provide any additional details. According to Stuff, Rudd allegedly tried to have two as-yet-unidentified men killed and was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and threatening to kill.
The longtime drummer appeared in Tauranga District Court on Thursday afternoon local time and was released on bail. He is due back for his next hearing on November 27th and faces up to 10 years in prison on the murder-for-hire charge if convicted. New Zealand police have yet to reveal any details behind Rudd's arrest or who were the intended victims. According to New Zealand news outlet The Sun, Rudd was "accused of procuring murder" between September 25th and 26th.
The drug charges pertain to a raid on the 60-year-old drummer's house conducted by police on Thursday.
The other members of the group issued a statement to Rolling Stone, saying, "We've only become aware of Phil's arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year."
Last month, a new press photo of the group was released featuring frontman Brian Johnson, bassist Cliff Williams and guitarists Angus and Stevie Young. Asked why Rudd was not included in the photo, a spokesperson for the group told Rolling Stone at the time that the drummer was unable to make the photo shoot but was still an active member of the band.
AC/DC had been prepping for the December 2nd release of Rock or Bust, their first record in six years and first without founding rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, who left the band earlier this year due to dementia. The band debuted the first song to come off the album, "Play Ball," online in October.
Rudd became AC/DC's drummer in 1975 and stayed with the band until 1983, moving to Tauranga after leaving the group. He rejoined AC/DC in 1994 and has been a permanent member ever since.
The drummer released his debut album, Head Job, in August.
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... z3IImB6rNLUPDATE: One day after Rudd's arrest, the murder-for-hire charge against Rudd was dropped due to "insufficient evidence." Prosecutors said, however, that they'll continue going forward on the drugs and threatening-to-kill charges.

Uusi levy ei itseäni niin kiinnosta, mutta tämä muu draama kyllä. Malcolmilla oli noita ongelmia näköjään jo vuosia.
AC/DC Talk About Malcolm Young’s Dementia, Moving on Without Phil Rudd
AC/DC have been ramping up the promotion of their upcoming album, ‘Rock or Bust.’ And they haven’t evaded any questions regarding two recent missing members: guitarist Malcolm Young, who had to step down after being diagnosed with dementia, and drummer Phil Rudd, who was arrested last week for threatening to kill someone (among other charges).
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist Angus Young says that his brother’s health problems surfaced a few years ago, while the band was making its 2008 record ‘Black Ice.’
“It’s something that had actually been happening for a long time,” he said. “[It] had surfaced even before the last project … [Malcolm] was still capable of knowing what he wanted to do. I said to him, ‘Do you want to go through with what we’re doing?’ And he said, ‘S—, yeah.’”
In fact, Malcolm had been receiving treatment during ‘Black Ice”s tour. ”He got good help, good medical care,” Angus said. “But he was always a confident guy, and we made it work.” He also pointed out that his brother ”liked to finish what he started.”
As for Rudd, Young added that the drummer had been showing some erratic behavior lately, like showing up 10 days late for the new album’s recording sessions.
“One minute he was coming, then he wasn’t, then he was,” Young said. “We’re not a band that likes to wait around.” He eventually played on the album, but Young noted that he’s ”seen him in better shape. It was not the Phil we had known, after we had finished the last tour. He’d let himself go.”
The band plans to continue on without Rudd for now. Young told Billboard that they will “go forward” without their longtime drummer. It seems like they were even prepared for this move. “Our problems had begun even before the situation he’s in now,” Young said. “And our thing was we were going forward.”
‘Rock or Bust’ comes out on Dec. 2.

Re: AC/DC
Malcolmilla oli vähän enemmänkin terveysongelmia.
Lähde: Ultimate Classic RockMore details have emerged on the health troubles that former AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young endured in recent years in addition to his much-publicized battle against dementia.
According to Q Magazine, the rock legend was diagnosed with lung cancer at the conclusion of the band’s tour in support of the 2008 album ‘Black Ice.’ Luckily, thanks to early detection, doctors were able to treat the condition successfully via an operation.
Then, it was discovered that Young had an unspecified heart condition, which required him to have a pacemaker installed. Judging from the way he revealed the news to bandmate Brian Johnson, these incidents did little to affect Malcolm’s spirit. “This is typical Malcolm,” Johnson explains, “He got a hold of my hand and went… (bangs repeatedly on his chest) Pacemaker. F—ing good, mate.’ He scared the s— out of us! And there’s a twinkle in his eye, he was tickled pink. It’s like he was showing us a new fuzzbox or something!”
Lead guitarist Angus Young talked to GMI Rock about what his brother had been through, and the “not easy” decision to carry on without him: “Besides the mental side with the dementia, he had physical problems also. He had a lung operation, which was pretty critical, but he got treatment for that because they got to it. It was like a cancer. So they got that early and then later on he had also a heart problem. So it was like everything hit him at once. The physical side of him, he got great treatment for all that so he’s good with all that, but the mental side has deteriorated. He himself had said, ‘I won’t be able to do it anymore.’”
As a result, Angus and the rest of the band recruited his (and Malcolm’s) nephew Stevie Young to play on the the acclaimed 2014 album ‘Rock or Bust‘ as well on as their upcoming world tour, which is set to kick off May 5 in Arnhem, Holland.

- BillboardAC/DC is finally heading to Spotify, three years after the veteran rock band decided to put its catalog on iTunes.
A person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Monday (June 29) that AC/DC's music would be available on Spotify globally Tuesday. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the person was not allowed to discuss the matter publicly.
A representative for AC/DC didn't immediately return an email seeking comment.
AC/DC announced in 2012 that its music would be available digitally at the iTunes Store worldwide. Apple is launching its news music service, Apple Music, on Tuesday.
The Australian band is one of the few acts that would not release music digitally for some time. Instead of releasing his music digitally, Garth Brooks launched GhostTunes to house his music online.
